Q. The look of your photomanipulations look different. Are you a self taught photomanipulator, or have you had any courses?I am a self taught artist. The only training I have received is learning here on DA by trying lots of tutorials.
Q. Would you explain your philosophy on combining photo stock with painting?When combing both photos and painting I find the work to be much more successful and appealing if there is a balance. You can not simply photomanip a girl then paint some big thick hair on her, it just looks fake. I try to blend my elements so you are not real sure is it a manip or a painting. For me that is the key to my most successful works.
Q Do you have anything you could add for photomanipulators who would like to work in mix media?Learn the basics... try many brushes... don't be so concerned about what others think or if they like your work, but how does it make you feel. I like to have a starting point. For me it was eyes...It took many trails an attempts when I felt like I had eyes that were perfect I moved on to lips, mastering each thing before i moved on to learning the next.
